Engaging Tribal Communities in Your E MDT Work (10.22.2024)

Please join the National Elder Abuse MDT Training and Technical Assistance Center, Dr. Jacque Gray and Dr. Wendelin Hume for a discussion on engaging Tribal communities in your E-MDT work. This presentation will assist attendees in defining cultural humility and identify its key principles. Participants will also learn how to identify cultural considerations surrounding elder abuse in Indigenous communities in order to apply culturally sensitive approaches within their E-MDT work; how to apply strategies in building mutually beneficial relationships with Tribal partners that honor Tribal sovereignty and culture; initiating respectful contact with Tribal partners and identify key jurisdictional considerations when working with Tribal Communities.
