Navigating Ethics in Elder Abuse: Building Stronger Multidisciplinary Decision-Making (4.8.2025)

Please join the National Elder Abuse MDT Training and Technical Assistance Center in welcoming Dr. Sheri Gibson, Licensed Gero-psychologist, for a discussion on ethics in elder abuse. In this presentation, Dr. Gibson will discuss recognizing ethical dilemmas in elder abuse cases, frameworks for resolving ethical dilemmas, including principles of autonomy, beneficence, and justice, and will explore strategies for addressing elder abuse within these ethical parameters. By examining case studies and current practices, we will consider how multidisciplinary teams can embed values that are aligned with a team’s ethical responsibilities.

Presented by: Dr. Sheri Gibson
